Don’t you know you become “invisible” as an older woman? Just like the ads for anti-wrinkle cream: those models are all in their 20s. I should know – I am 67 and have been “invisible” for quite some time now.

I don’t feel invisible at all – I think it’s because I realize the value my life’s experiences add to the world. I try to surround myself with people who respect and appreciate me despite age, gender, race, education or anything else. Make yourself visible and others will see you.

The same people who feel visible at 60 plus were visible in their youth. Some of us never felt visible whether we gave it positive effort or tried to just casually meld in. At 62 I have had crisis after crisis. The life n death kind. I remain positive, funny, all agree with this. Yet, I remain alone with no friends. After you retire it becomes worse.
